The Job

Cellar Person:
We are looking for someone that can successfully execute any production aspects needed by the Head Brewer.

Must be able to meet deadlines, schedules, and be punctual. Must have the ability to contribute to a healthy work environment and help perpetuate our positive culture. We are a small team, and all do whatever is needed so there will be warehouse work involved as well. But, alas, don’t worry, we all help each other out here!

Absolution beertenders are responsible for providing a positive, warm and welcoming environment for our guests. In addition, they educate our guests about our beers.

The ideal candidate is a craft beer enthusiast who has a sincere desire to contribute and help build our brand. We are seeking a candidate who is trustworthy, professional and comfortable taking initiative and acting independently.

Cellar Person

Focus on safety and quality above all else. Meticulous in how you approach any tasks around the brewery.
Proficiency in working with brewery SOP’s and concentrated chemicals.
Responsible for CIP, sanitation and preparation of fermentation tanks, brite tanks and anything else needed by the Head Brewer. Must be meticulous with cleanliness and the aforementioned SOPs.
Responsible for raw material handling and organization including (but not limited to)mill operation and grist preparation.
Help maintain all brewing equipment.
Responsible for packaging and package preparation.
Must be able to follow SOP’s for kegging finished beer and inventory control.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Responsible for soda production.
Responsible for maintaining water tank levels including setting and blending with our reverse osmosis system.
Responsible for doing small batch variants in our mini-brite tank.
Responsible for keg washing and inventory or clean/dirty kegs.
Must be able to build distro orders and ensure they are correct before delivery.
Attention to detail is a must.
Record detailed data on brewhouse and cellar operations.
Must participate in packaging responsibilities. Currently we ‘can’ beer once a month and they tend to be long days.
Ongoing communication in every aspect is key.
Self-driven, time management and completion of daily tasks assigned.
Must be able to learn how to use labelling machine quickly and effectively.
Must be able to drive freight truck to cold storage center and back.
Must be able to follow proper dry-hopping procedures outlined by the Head Brewer.
Responsible for all aspects of cleanliness in the cellar including (but not limited to) tanks, floors, walls, ceilings, clamps, gaskets and anything else used.
Responsible for raw material handling and organization including (but not limited to) mill operation and grist preparation.
Other duties as assigned.


Greet and welcome customers as they arrive.

Provide an overview of our beers and answer any questions that guests might have.

Pour and serve beer.

Work quickly to ensure customers are served in a timely manner.

Ensure all items are entered into the POS system and complete sales transactions.

Ensure flawless execution of filling orders and the payment process.

Ensure an exceptional customer experience and whenever necessary resolve concerns using good judgment, professionalism and courtesy.

Maintain an exceptionally clean environment for our guests including wiping down all surfaces, sweeping, mopping, clearing away all empty glassware.

Ensure and instill a safety-first environment for both customers and employees.

Ensure responsible serving practices.


Cellar Person

Ability to be in as early as 5 am (when needed).

Strong time management skills.

Ability to think critically and multitask effectively. This is an important one!

Ability to operate a forklift (or learn how to).

Ability to lift 55+ lbs regularly, and safely move 150 lbs.

Ability to safely handle concentrated chemicals on a regular basis.

Ability to crouch, sit, stand, pull, push, bend, and/or twist while working in confined, wet, hot, and/or cold environments. Must be able to stand for entire shift.

Ability to climb and work on a ladder.

High school diploma. Brewing, engineering or other related education preferred but not required.

Proficient in google docs.

Must be punctual.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Live reasonably close to Torrance, CA.

Must have a positive attitude.

Must love beer and having fun with co-workers! :)
This an entry level position. Previous brewing experience is preferred but NOT required.


Must be at least 21 years of age.

Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.

Some bartending experience a plus.

Experience with POS systems a plus.

Some knowledge of and passion for craft beer and the brewing industry.
Ability to work on a team and contribute in a positive manner.

Strong communication skills.
Comfortable speaking to customers.

Outgoing and inviting personality.

High school diploma.

Availability to work all taproom operating hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Ability to lift 55lbs and to move 165lb kegs.

Excellent math skills.

Working Environment

This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including shift work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and working within close proximity of an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).

Physical Requirements

The Taproom Manager will likely be required to stand for extended periods of time when overseeing taproom operations and/or serving as alternate beer tender. S/He may also be required to lift boxes 35-50 lbs and move empty / full kegs with the help of a dolly.
