The Job

You will be responsible for the performance of the Tap Room in accordance with Absolution's plans and objectives, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, event coordination, and staff development.

Be an ambassador for Absolution. You are the face of the brewery when people visit the Tap Room. Create a welcoming environment for our customers. Ensure that all internal, local, state and federal laws, regulations, and policies are implemented and followed within the Tap Room.

Maintain daily cleanliness of the Tap Room, draft cold box and surrounding areas.

Ensure that all staff are pouring and serving beer correctly and are maintaining a clean workspace, bar, bathrooms, and tables before, during, and after hours of operation. Ensure the staff has a deep knowledge of all the beers on tap and ABC process and procedure for labelling and recording keg sales.

Schedule, train, and discipline Tap Room staff.
Maintain inventory of all kegs, cans, Crowlers, glassware and merchandise.

Book and manage food truck schedule, create, and maintain relationships with local food providers.
POS system knowledge, maintenance, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

Open and close cash register and POS system daily during hours of operation.

Maximize company financial health by staffing the Tap Room appropriately, minimizing waste and making sure staff are fulfilling their responsibilities and departing and arriving at the appropriate times.

Quality Control. Taste beer taps daily to assure the highest quality is maintained; look, smell, taste.
Report to management to coordinate day-to-day operational flow.
Complete Weekly Operations Report to the CEO.

Planning and executing special events in the taproom. Ensure staff knows of upcoming events/specials and is informing customers. Work with management to creatively promote new beers & events. Make sure all new beers are correctly listed on our electronic menu system and tasting notes are available for all staff to review.

Resolve guest issues with patience, sensitivity, and efficiency.
Create lists of necessary tap room supplies to restock, communicate, and receive reports as well as review To Do list for Tap Room.
Participate in weekly team meetings at the brewery.


Available to work full-time (40 hrs / week), including nights and weekends.

Prior taproom / bartending experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of craft beer, including basic understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred).

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Exceptional customer service skills.

Ability to anticipate and proactively address problems in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated leadership.

Positive attitude and ability to work with a diverse set of people.

Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems and other web-based / MS Office software.

Ability to lift 35-50 lbs.

Ability to move full kegs with the aid of a dolly.

Aptitude for and desire to learn the mechanical workings of taproom equipment in order to address problems quickly and efficiently.

Grace under pressure.

Working Environment

This position requires an individual who works under a range of circumstances, including shift work, weekend work, working with challenging patrons, working in the fast-paced environment of a crowded taproom, and working within close proximity of an operating brewery (noise, heavy equipment, odors related to the brewing process).

Physical Requirements

The Taproom Manager will likely be required to stand for extended periods of time when overseeing taproom operations and/or serving as alternate beer tender. S/He may also be required to lift boxes 35-50 lbs and move empty / full kegs with the help of a dolly.
